Inconvenient Youth (ICY) is a liberal, activist organization established by Mary Doerr, a high school senior in Palo Alto, California. ICY is a network of teens across America recruiting and training young people to fight global warming. ICY coordinates with youth across the country, and provides them with the knowledge, tactics and tools to become activists in their communities.[1]

Mary Doerr is the founder and executive director of Inconvenient Youth. Mary is the daughter of John Doerr, a partner in the venture capital firm that Al Gore joined in November 2007, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Doerr's venture capital group—much like Gore himself—has made huge investments in companies creating green technologies.[2]
