Indo-European refers to the world's largest family of hundreds of languages, including most of those spoken in Europe today along with languages spoken in Iran, Asia and India.

Although there is debate about its origin, the most commonly accepted hypothesis among evolutionists is that it dates back to about 4,000 BC, and originated in the Caspian steppe. Creation scientists believe that all language kinds were created by God in about 2200 BC following the destruction of the Tower of Babel.

Indo-European also has the largest number of speakers as a language family.
