Jeannette Rankin

Jeannette Rankin (1880-1973) was the first female member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Montana's 2nd district as a Republican from 1917 to 1919 and Montana's 1st district from 1941 to 1943. She was the only member of Congress to vote against the United States' entry into World War II, and also voted against entering World War I during her first term.
