Jerry Moran, born May 29, 1954 (age 59), is a the Republican junior United States Senator from Kansas. Previously he represented Kansas' 1st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, which consists of over half of the state geographicially, and all of the western portion of the state. Moran makes a point to conduct one "town hall meeting" per year in all 69 counties that make up part of his district.[1] Moran lives in Hays, where he was a professor in political science (at Fort Hays State University). He is strongly pro-life [2].

In 2010, Moran won the election to replace Sam Brownback.
