John Bosco

Saint John Bosco (August 16, 1815 - January 31, 1888) was a Catholic priest who founded the Slaesian Order. He is also a saint who is venerated on January 31st.
John Belchor Bosco was born on August 16, 1815 to peasant parents in Becchi near Turin, Italy. He joined the priesthood and started a school for poor and orphaned boys in Turin. In 1857 he founded the Salesian Order. he is said to have reformed the Italian education system as well as the education system of South America after 1875. He died on January 31, 1888 and was beatified a saint in 1934.[1]
