From Conservapedia
John Bunyan (1628–1688) was the author of Pilgrim's Progress, an allegory of the Christian faith. Bunyan was born, lived and died in England.
Homeschooled in his youth, Bunyan converted to the Baptist faith as an adult and was imprisoned for 12 years for preaching without a license. During his imprisonment he wrote Pilgrim's Progress in two parts, and it became the most widely read work in English after the Bible.[Citation Needed]
