His shows are notable for gross-out images and sadistic content, and episodes of these shows have been subject to censorship and banning on TV. With regards to "Ren and Stimpy", Kricfalusi was fired by Nickelodeon shortly after the show began to air. An attempt at an "adult" version of "Ren and Stimpy", which aired about ten years later, also failed due to its explicit content.
Kricfalusi's shows have frequently mocked American conservatism. His George Liquor character (also known as "George Liquor, American") is the stereotypical caricature of the ignorant, gun-toting conservative.
Kricfalusi maintains a blog entitled "John K. Stuff" where he frequently criticizes modern animation, including computer animation, and compares these methods of animation to the methods and styles behind older "classic" cartoons (which he prefers).
