John Walsh is an anti-crime crusader and has been the host of the television show America's Most Wanted since 1988. The show currently airs on FOX.

In 1981, Walsh's son, Adam, was kidnapped and murdered at the age of six. To the day, this crime has never been solved. [1] Walsh and his wife, Revé, took their grief and turned it into action, lobbying legislators. This led to the passage of the Missing Children's Assistance Act of 1984. They also founded the Adam Walsh Child Resource Center, a lobbying organization that sought stiffer penalties against perpetrators of violence of children. This later merged with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

A number of stores, including Wal-Mart, participate in a program known as "Code Adam" that seeks to swiftly locate children who have become separated from their parents in the store. [2]
