Josiah Bartlett
From Conservapedia
Josiah Bartlett (November 21, 1729 – May 19, 1795) was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention from the state of New Hampshire. A physician and member of the Continental Congress in 1775, 1776, and 1778, Bartlett was both a signer of the Articles of Confederation and the second signer of the Declaration of Independence. [1]
President Josiah Bartlet of the television series The West Wing was a fictional descendant of the historic Bartlett, and named after him. The series never explained why the second "t" was dropped from the family name.
