Kay Ruthven Hagan (May 26, 1953 – October 28, 2019) was a United States Senator from North Carolina and a member of the Democratic Party. She voted with a majority of her Democratic colleagues 89.9% of the time.[1] She served on the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee.[2]
Previously Hagan was a five-term member of the North Carolina State Senate.
She was a niece of Democrat Governor and U.S. Senator Lawton Chiles of Florida. Hagan died on October 28, 2019.[3][4]
