Larry K. Anders sits on the Advisory Council of The Dallas Foundation, which is based in Dallas, Texas. Anders is the chairman and majority owner of Summit Alliance Companies, also based in Dallas. He was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Board of Regents of the Texas Tech University System and currently serves as the chairman of the Board of Regents.
Active in politics, Larry contributes heavily to candidates, mostly to Republicans. Since 2002, Larry Anders has contributed $76,640 to the Republican Party and its various candidates such as Kay Bailey Hutchison, Rudy Giuliani, John McCain and Mike Huckabee.
The Dallas Foundation is major contributor to George Soros-backed leftist media attack group Media Matters for America. Based in Washington, DC, Media Matters is run by David Brock, who recently “declared war” on Fox News. The foundation has contributed $250,000 to Media Matters in recent years.
The Dallas Foundation is the oldest community foundation in Texas. It’s most recent IRS filing says it “grants to charitable causes, mostly in Dallas County, intended to improve the quality of life in the areas of arts, education, health, social services, and community projects.” Why they’ve chosen to donate to radical left-wing organizations like Media Matters, who obviously provide none of the aforementioned services, raises questions about the stated mission of the foundation.
