Larry Charles is an Emmy Award-winning writer, director, and producer. He made his name as a staff writer for the sitcom Seinfeld and went on to direct the "adult" comedy show Curb Your Enthusiasm. He also attracted controversy by directing the movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, a blatantly anti-American film which mocks and ridicules decent, ordinary American citizens, as well as Sacha Baron Cohen's equally offensive subsequent films, Bruno and The Dictator.

Charles also directed the recently released movie Religulous featuring Bill Maher which mocks Christianity and religion in the United States.
