Leonid Stadnik from the Ukraine is the world's tallest man at 8 feet 5 and 1/2 inches in height. He is 36 years old and beats the next tallest man by over 8 inches. He was only recently recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Stadnik's incredible growth spurt started at age 14 after a brain operation which apparently stimulated the production of human growth hormone from his pituitary gland. He leads a simple life living with his mother and taking care of the family's home and garden.[1]

An American TV show recently did an expose on his life. He stated that one of the reporters who came to see him brought up that he must think about dying since the life expectancy for people like him is very short. Stadnik replied that the comment hurt him. He does not think about dying, but simply takes his life one day at a time.
