The long-eared jerboa, like the regular jerboa, is a small rodent with long hind legs and a tufted tail. As the name implies, the long-eared Jerboa has exceptionally large ears - a third larger than its head.
Conservation
Aside from appearance, little is known about this species, but it has been classified as evolutionary distinct and endangered: It is listed as "Endangered" on the 2007 IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and is in the Top 10 "Focal Species" list of the EDGE project.
