Mahayana Buddhism (lit. "Greater Vehicle") is a form of Buddhism, which is popular in East Asian countries such as China, Korea, Japan and Tibet. Adherents of this branch of Buddhism believe in improving both their own consciousness and the world. They acknowledge that this approach would slow down the goal of overcoming suffering and have adopted "We should reach Nirvana as the last ones" as their bodhisattva vow.[1]
