Al Sharpton Soaks Up Boycott Bucks: Biz Giants Pay or Face Race Rallies
Terrified of negative publicity, fearful of a consumer boycott or eager to make nice with the civil-rights activist, CEOs write checks, critics say, to National Action Network and Sharpton - who brandishes the buying power of African-American consumers. In some cases, they hire him as a consultant.

Obama's half-brother: Barack grew up Muslim
Contemporaries, records indicate candidate once 'quite religious in Islam'
Obama has a couple of pages on his campaign website denying he was a Muslim: "Fight the Smears" and Obama Has Never Been A Muslim, And Is a Committed Christian
A military magazine "Stars and Stripes" quotes Conservapedia in the old versus young earth debate.
A New Deal on Energy; liberals who care about their fellow man should rethink U.S. energy policy. "The wealthy, particularly those who are politically liberal, also like that high-priced gas translates into less burning of fossil fuels by others and helps accelerate research into alternative energies. What these elites don’t seem to realize is that the energy policies they tend to advocate are for the present paralyzing almost everyone else in the country — and that the truly ethical and environmental solution would require embracing positions long considered anathema to traditional liberalism."
Weather Channel founder John Coleman's statement to the San Diego Chamber of Commerce had this to say about global warming: "Well, it is simply not happening. Worldwide there was a significant natural warming trend in the 1980’s and 1990’s as a Solar cycle peaked with lots of sunspots and solar flares. That ended in 1998 and now the Sun has gone quiet with fewer and fewer Sun spots, and the global temperatures have gone into decline. Earth has cooled for almost ten straight years. So, I ask Al Gore, where’s the global warming?" Yes, just where is it, Al?
John McCain "decried Thursday's Supreme Court ruling granting foreign terrorism suspects at Guantanamo Bay the right to challenge their detention in civilian courts, which he called 'one of the worst decisions in the history of this country.' ... The crowd of more than 1,000 supporters, packed into a gym at Burlington County College [in New Jersey], exploded into applause at McCain's comments."
Conservapedia's email to Professor Lenski: Skepticism has been expressed on Conservapedia about your claims, and the significance of your claims, that ...." See the full email here, where the reply (or lack of reply) will also be posted.
Update: Prof. Lenski has replied.
Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul said Thursday night he is ending his campaign but will keep spreading his message by working to help elect libertarian-leaning Republicans to public office around the U.S.
Countering Democrats on Drilling
Every solution currently under consideration by the Democrats and Republicans is a future solution. Oil drilling and processing is a present-day technology that offers the quickest solution to our energy needs. As the other technologies are gradually proven and perfected and go on-line, we can then reduce our dependence on oil.
Is Hillary Clinton quietly remaining in contention for the Democratic nomination? She refuses to release her delegates, and one of her senior delegates just insisted that Hillary's name be put to the convention for a vote: "if the Democratic Party 'does not allow (Clinton's) name to be put in nomination at the convention' there 'will be an eruption in the party.'"
The right of the People ... shall not be infringed
Here's an interesting fact: Alcohol-related traffic deaths outnumber homicides with guns by a wide margin.
Here's another inconvenient truth for the Leftist gun-grabbers: The U.S. ranks 41st in the world in homicides but first in the world in private gun ownership (39 percent of households).
Moral Poverty at the UN
We do not need lectures from the Director of the Food and Agricultural Organization or any other UN bureaucrats about contributing more money to alleviate world hunger. The United States already spends billions of dollars of taxpayers’ money for this cause. What we need is real action by the international community against those dictators like Mugabe and Ahmadinejad who are holding their own starving people hostage to their insatiable hunger for power.
A Story of Oil and a "Do Nothing" Congress
Americans are demanding that we drill now and drill at home to obtain more oil and reduce our dependence on foreign imports. The Democratic Party has become so dependent upon the environmentalists and the far left that it refuses to go against these groups and respond to the demands of the public.
The ACLU has just announced a $335 million fund-raising campaign intended to strengthen its operations in "heartland" states. In most cases, it will publicly attack in court and out, positions on issues such as "immigrants' rights, gay rights, police brutality and opposition to the death penalty."
Political Correctness And Rape Victims
A judge in Lincoln, Nebraska violated the victim's freedom of speech by prohibiting her from uttering the word "rape" in front of a jury. The term "sexual assault" also was taboo, and she could not refer to herself as a victim or use the word "assailant" to describe the man who allegedly raped her.
The Democratic Majority on Capitol Hill continues to prove itself complicit in an energy crisis that has saddled American families and small businesses with gas prices that have reached over $4 per gallon.
After more than two years of accusations and probes into the operations of the United Nations Development Program in North Korea, a weighty report finally reveals how routinely, and systematically, the agency disregarded U.N. regulations on how it conducted itself in Kim Jong Il’s brutal dictatorship, passing on millions of dollars to the regime in the process. Full report
Democrats Try to Make Military Press Conferences Illegal
The real reason the Democrats want such a policy in place is to silence the military entirely. Then Congress and the Democratic Party will be the conduit of information between the military and the people. So, what better way to further their own propaganda then by making sure the military will never be heard.
Liberal Democrats Block Drill Plan
House Subcommittee Rejects Plan to Open U.S. Waters to More Oil Exploration. The U.S. Minerals Management Service estimates that 86 billion barrels of oil and 420 trillion cubic feet of natural gas can be found along the U.S. outer continental shelf, the area affected by the ban.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin isn't just a pro-life politician. She recently proved she's pro-life by personal example. In an age when many parents receive the news that they're carrying a baby with Down syndrome and then "terminate" the pregnancy," Gov. Palin gave birth to a son with Down syndrome and announced her delight at God's blessing.
Media Ignore Impending Collision: Gay Rights vs. Religious Liberty
"The homosexual rights movement is not really an effort to win civil rights for a supposedly oppressed minority. It’s a war against Western civilization’s Judeo-Christian moral order, joined now by many non-homosexuals who support rewriting society’s moral code. The goals are to win social acceptance of alternative sexual “lifestyles,” especially homosexuality, and to make room for a revolutionary new sexual code that glorifies self-indulgence and embraces promiscuity."
Obamanomics: Barack Obama likes tax increases and spending the taxpayers’ money
Obama has promised higher income taxes, Social Security taxes, capital gains taxes, dividend taxes, and tax hikes on job creating businesses.
Bullying at atheistic public schools graduations: When school officials in Rock Hill, South Carolina, tell graduation ceremony crowds to hold their applause until the end, they mean it — Police arrested seven people after they were accused of loud cheering during the ceremonies.
The “National Conference for Media Reform” was held in Minneapolis, Minnesota from June 6-8. Some of the speakers included Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Mn.), Senator Byron Dorgan, members of the FCC, Bill Moyers, Phil Donahue, Arianna Huffington, and Dan Rather. The liberals are hoping for the return of the Fairness Doctrine or other measures to limit and control conservative speech. It's absolutely clear that the “media reform” movement has emerged as a critical part of the partisan political effort to help the Democratic Party gain absolute and total political power on the federal level and use that power to silence conservative and Republican voices in the media.
"Professor" Barack Obama lectures John McCain about gas prices. But guess what? Even the Obama-boosting Associated Press admits, "Obama offered no new policies in his speech, which he read from teleprompters."
McClellan, Your Vote, Your Money, Energy And Deception In 2008
The major media generally ignored a speech by Congressman Chris Cannon, who pointed out that oil from shale in Utah, Colorado and Wyoming could be immediately available at about $30 a barrel. That would be about $100 less than OPEC is charging these days.
Oliver North: D-Day In Context
"The victories over al-Qaida and the Shiite militias in Iraq, against the Taliban and Osama bin Laden's remnant in Afghanistan, and over Muslim terrorists in Somalia and the Philippines have been won by U.S. soldiers, sailors, airmen, guardsmen and Marines -- and the new allies they have advised and trained in these countries. Those who landed on the beaches of Normandy 64 years ago were American heroes. So are those who serve today."
The American Textbook Council said that Maryland middle and high school students will be required to read about Islamic teachings that have been dumbed down and are products of political correctness.
Behold the latest product of our atheistic public schools: this graduating senior allegedly flipped an obscene gesture to attendees at graduation, took a swing at the principal, and resisted arrest.
Church of England attacks Labour for betraying Christians
The British government's "deep religious illiteracy" is failing society as it discriminates against Christian churches and favors other faiths, including Islam. The Church of England fires off in its strongest attack on the government in decades.
Liberal Scrooges
Why are these famous, big spending lefties so uncharitable with their own money? This evidence of liberal hypocrisy is bad enough, but what really amazes is how poorly these liberals do in comparison to conservatives.
Liberal In Britain: Children Should No Longer Study History, Geography, Science
It's quite ironic that most people seem to believe that liberals are more concerned about education than conservatives because libs put a much lower value on actually educating children than conservatives do.
Top Pro-Abortion Group Emily's List Endorses Barack Obama for President
Ellen Malcolm, the president of the group said "We can never forget what John McCain stands for: a steadfast determination to overturn Roe v. Wade."
Half of the Conservapedian leadership came together for a successful event last night, filling the hall and hearing six talks. A public school student mentioned that she had used Conservapedia to help her complete an assignment concerning a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court.

David Limbaugh: The Arrogance of Obama's Leftist Supporters
It's nothing new for advocates of socialism, isolationism, appeasement, multiculturalism, defeatism and American non-exceptionalism to flex their muscles and gain power for a time.
Global Whining vs. the Truth
Despite the cries of Congress, the Earth does not have a fever and carbon dioxide is no more dangerous than the breath of life. During the fall elections we need to cap the rhetoric from some of these political whiners by trading them in for people who know a good thermometer when they see it.
Pro-Life Voters Must Work Overtime to Stop Pro-Abortion Barack Obama
Karen Cross, political director for National Right to Life, says Obama "strongly supports the appointment of only U.S. Supreme Court Justices who favor Roe v. Wade." Cross also warned, "If Senator Barack Obama becomes president of the United States, hundreds of thousands more unborn children will likely die each year."
Liberalism and Victimhood
Dennis Prager discusses the negative impact of feminism on women (and men) and, by extension, the destructive effects of liberal teachers, Democratic politics and liberal news media on African Americans.
Club for Growth scores in GOP primaries
In New Mexico, Rep. Steve Pearce narrowly won the Republican primary for retiring GOP Sen. Pete V. Domenici’s seat, defeating his more moderate opponent, Rep. Heather Wilson, 51 percent to 49 percent.
In California, another club-backed candidate, conservative state Sen. Tom McClintock, easily prevailed over former Rep. Doug Ose in the Republican primary to succeed retiring Rep. John Doolittle.
Michelle Malkin: Planned Parenthood’s obscene profits
Congress has interrogated banking, energy, tobacco, pharmaceutical, and oil execs. When will they go after a corrupt industry that has real blood on its hands? The executives of Planned Parenthood have escaped government scrutiny and public accountability for their predatory behavior, dangerous medical practices, deception, and deadly windfall.
Hollywood values strike again: "Oscar-winning actress Tatum O'Neal has been arrested in New York on suspicion of trying to buy crack cocaine"; "police said the 44-year-old Hollywood star was arrested as she was handing money to a street dealer three blocks from where she lives in Manhattan Island. When officers searched her, they allegedly found two bags of drugs -- one with crack, one with regular cocaine -- and an unused crack pipe."
In New Jersey, a 14-year-old and his cousin allegedly murdered two video game workers at 11 a.m. one morning; one pled guilty, and trial begins for the other.
Meanwhile, a new video game has players violently stopping the spread of Christianity and Islam.
The Democrat Assault on American Energy
The Republican Study Committee's policy brief detailing the Democrat pattern of blocking attempts to increase the supply of American energy and actively promoting policies that would make American energy less available, more expensive, and thus less affordable for poor and middle class Americans.
Final primaries: Barack Obama wins Montana; Hillary Clinton wins South Dakota. Obama claims to have won the Democratic nomination based on new superdelegate endorsements; Clinton refuses to concede defeat.
The Senate on Monday began debating the "Climate Security Act", sponsored by Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and John Warner (R-VA). The bill would establish a cap-and-trade system for greenhouse gases from the manufacturing, transportation and electric power sectors. Cato scholar Patrick J. Michaels says of the bill, "It's going to cost trillions and do nothing measurable about climate change in the foreseeable future." -- Cato Institute
Most doctors insist that unusual ectopic pregnancies are hopeless and require abortion, because supposedly less than one in a million mothers and infants can survive them. Yet a woman just gave birth to a healthy baby after an ectopic pregnancy.
Obama's Ex-Church Has Won $15M in Federal Grant Money
Rev. Jeremiah Wright has cursed the U.S. government for its treatment of African-Americans and believes government-funded programs are a necessary compensation for the legacy of white racism.

Hillary Clinton trounces Barack Obama by 68-32% in the Puerto Rico primary, and takes the lead in the overall popular primary vote by 17.5 to 17.2 million. "When the voting concludes on Tuesday, neither Sen. Obama nor I will have the number of delegates to be the nominee," Clinton announced. "I will lead the popular vote; he will maintain a slight lead in the delegate count."
"Geraldine Ferraro, a former Democratic vice-presidential nominee, renewed allegations on Friday that Ms. Clinton has been a victim of sexism and said her white supporters feel they have been targets of "reverse racism" by Mr. Obama. 'If you're white you can't open your mouth without being accused of being racist,' she wrote in the Boston Globe."
Indian Conservatives Struggle to Build Alternative Media
Journalists must follow a rigid political correctness that forces them to adhere to the MSM's left-wing bias or look for employment elsewhere.
There is a conservative approach to the problem of high energy prices: relieve government burdens on the energy market. Drill Here, Drill Now
The liberal agenda will raise the prices consumers pay for gasoline, diesel fuel, natural gas and home heating oil.
What Happens When the Ex-Press Secretary Doesn’t Trash His Boss
Liberal Bias: While McClellan’s yet-to-be-officially-published book has already become the liberal media’s favorite story of the day, a Nexis search shows that Fleischer’s memoir generated virtually no broadcast or cable news coverage, and no front-page coverage in the nation’s newspapers.
Oliver North: UN-believable
Apparently, the pursuit of phobias, discrimination and intolerance has distracted the U.N. from doing any real work, such as reining in Iranian efforts to acquire nuclear weapons.

Former UK prime minister Tony Blair, a stalwart ally of the US in the War on terror and probably one of George Bush's closest friends in spite of his socialist background, now proclaims his faith as one of his main political drivers.
True liberals must be appeasers
"Since 9/11 liberals have made it clear in a thousand little ways that they are just not willing to resist a suicide-bombing enemy. They don't have the moral fiber, and they always misunderstand reality. Starting from false premises, the Left always ends up with false conclusions. It is stunning to behold, but just look at Carter, Clinton and Obama."
The ACLU v. Good Judges
Phyllis Schlafly’s Eagle Forum believes appointing the right federal and local judges is more important than electing members of Congress or the President. Without solid, constitutionalist judges in place, the ACLU will continue winning cases that encourage the breakdown of traditional values and constitutional rights.
Homeowners association to U.S. Navy veteran: take down your American flag or face a lawsuit! Video:

It seemed like an almost literal answer to their prayers. When two New Zealand pilots ran out of fuel in a microlight airplane they offered prayers and were able to make an emergency landing in a field — coming to rest right next to a sign reading, "Jesus is Lord."
The ACLU is suing to deprive public schools the ability to improve achievement through use of some single-sex classes. Separating boys and girls is known to improve achievement in some circumstances, and is being used by 392 public schools. This lawsuit is in Breckinridge County, Kentucky.
Is the ACLU motivated by the $7.4 million awarded in fees to groups that forced Michigan schools to hold boys and girls sports competitions in the same season?
Another teacher sacked for briefly telling his students about Intelligent Design tells his story. But it was okay for Christians to be portrayed to the students as primitive and superstitious. See more examples of such censorship in our article, Suppression of alternatives to evolution.
