Maltese (Malti) is a Semitic language spoken in Malta and by pockets of Maltese people worldwide.

Maltese is actually a form of Arabic, but is heavily influenced by Italian, Sicilian, Norman French, and English. Also, it is written in the Latin alphabet, rather than the Arabic alphabet. The language is descended from the Arabic spoken in Sicily during the time it was an Arab kingdom.
