The Martyrs' Monument in St. Andrews Scotland commemorates the Protestant martyrs of the faith who were murdered by Roman Catholics, between 1520 and 1560, for purported heresy while the Protestant movement was still in its infancy. The martyrs were burnt at the stake, often at the north side of the Cathedral so that the people in Forfarshire, some 40 miles away, could see the flames. The Monument is located at the western end of the Scores overlooking the Royal and Ancient Golf Club.[1]

Among the brave and fearless martyrs of the faith were Patrick Hamilton, Henry Forest, George Wishart and Walter Myln.
