For the citrus-flavored soda see Mello Yello

"Mellow Yellow" was a 1966 hit single by British folk-pop singer-songwriter Donovan. It was also the name of a subsequent album. It is thought that the carbonated beverage (Mello Yello) manufactured by the Coca Cola company is named after the song. An urban legend states that the song is about smoking banana peels, which were rumored to create a mild high.
