In Mireless v. Waco, 502 U.S. 9, 12-13 (1991) (per curiam), the U.S. Supreme Court granted absolute judicial immunity to a judge despite committing an error in directing police officers to bring counsel forcibly before the court in a pending case. The Court reasoned that the order was judicial in nature, and thus absolute immunity should be available.
