Tim Tebow wanted to be traded to his home town of Jacksonville, Florida. The Jacksonville Jaguars wanted to acquire Tim Tebow. Jacksonville was willing to trade more to the Denver Broncos to obtain Tebow. The Denver Broncos said the decision was Tebow's whether or not to go to Jacksonville.

The owner of the Jaguars said that Tebow did not want to play for his team, even though it is his hometown and Tebow himself implied at his first press conference for the Jets that would have liked to return home. Moreover, a friend of Tebow had been quoted earlier as saying Tebow did want to return home.

Inexplicably, Tim Tebow ended up in the much bigger New York media market, to play for the New York Jets. Jacksonville is one of the smallest media markets in the entire NFL.

One football story describes it this way, "Tim Tebow Trade: Quarterback Made Decision Based on Lack of Communication."[1] But was someone else guiding the improbable outcome? And if so, why did Tebow's time in New York go so poorly? Why was it so brief?
