Nucleophile

A nucleophile is a negatively charged nucleus which is attracted to another positively charged mass; it is similar to an electrophile, except with the polarities and substances reversed. This may cause reactions, labelled as nucleophilic addition, substitution and elimination in that order.

All molecules or ions with a free pair of electrons or at least one pi bond can act as nucleophiles.
