The story stresses about the importance of friendship, and it also demonstrates the importance of fighting for one's dreams. This has made it one of the most popular manga series in Japan.

Plot Summary

Luffy tries to gather a pirate crew to become a pirate king. They seek the legendary treasure "Onepiece" Twenty two years ago, the legendary pirate king, Gol D. Roger was executed. His final words told that his treasure known as "One Piece" was hidden somewhere on the Grand Line. This started the Age of Pirates. Now, twenty two years later, seventeen year old Monkey D. To date the series has accumulated over 500 chapters (to out this in context, this is more than ten years work) in comic form and more than 350 episodes of television. Assuming the manga runs right to the end, it is not too fantastic to suggest that the series could accumulate another 300 chapters before it finishes.
