Organized religion is a term that has been coined that has come to mean any belief in the truth of a religion that currently has structure or doctrine or makes specific claims about God.

In place of this is the modern expression "I'm spiritual but not religious" which makes the assumption that the individual can know more about God by deciding what God is than in following any revelation that has already been provided.
