Oscar Lua (born May 9, 1984) is a National Football League rookie linebacker for the New England Patriots. He attended the University of Southern California (USC) from 2002 through 2006 and played at inside linebacker for the Trojans, USC's football team. While at USC, he played in 47 games, made 128 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and an interception. His playing time and effectiveness as a player was limited by injury's that he suffered to his knee ligaments and hamstring[1]. In 2007, Lua was drafted in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots[2]. In the last game of the 2007 preseason, he severely injured his knee and was put on the Patriot injury reserve list[3], forcing him to sit out the entire 2007 season.
