Oswald Chambers was a leading British Protestant minister at the turn of the 20th century.

He is best known as the author of My Utmost for His Highest, a widely read book containing one inspirational verse from the Bible for each day, along with his brief commentary.

A brilliant student and teacher, he also founded the Bible Training College in London. He died of an acute appendicitis while participating in World War I as he gave up a hospital bed in favor of injured soldiers.
