People's Liberation Army

The 'People's Liberation Army is the ground force made up of infantry and mobilized armored units of the People's Republic of China. It is the largest employer in the world, consisting of 2,250,000 active soldiers and 7,024,000 in total available troops.^{[Citation Needed]}

History

It was founded in August 1, 1927 during the Nanchang Uprising. This Army brutally suppressed unarmed, peaceful demonstrators during the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.
