Thomas Pepper Johnson (born July 29, 1964) is a Defensive Line coach for the New England Patriots. Prior to being hired as a Patriots coach he was a National Football League linebacker for the New York Giants (1986-1992), Cleveland Browns (1993-1995), Detroit Lions (1996) and New York Jets (1997-1998). In his NFL career he made 1,200 tackles, 25.5 sacks, forced 12 fumbles, recovered eight, and intercepted 14 passes. He was voted to the Pro Bowl twice and was a key member of two Super Bowl winning teams in his twelve year NFL career. He entered the NFL in 1986 when he was selected in the second round of the 1986 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.
