Pepsi Co, Inc. is the company that manufactures the caffeinated soda Pepsi. It is headquarted in Purchase, New York. It also manufactures other versions of Pepsi, including Diet Pepsi, a sugar free and low calorie version of Pepsi, caffeine free Pepsi, originally called Pepsi Free, and Wild Cherry Pepsi, a version of Pepsi with artificial cherry flavoring. It also manufactures other sodas, including Mountain Dew, a cola free soda with a high amount of caffeine in it, and Sierra Mist, a caffeine free and cola free soda. In addition, it is also involved in some non-caffeine and non-soft drink related industries. It used to own many restaurant chains, including Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and Kentucky Fried Chicken but sold them in 1997. It currently owns Quaker Oats and Kentucky Fried Chicken. It also owns the Aquafina water company.
It was formed in 1965 when the Pepsi-Cola Company and Frito-Lay merged. PepsiCo is larger than it's direct competitor, The Cola-Cola Company in terms of sales and number of employees.
