Photoshopping is the act of digitally manipulating an image, occasionally to deceive people by making something appear as something it really isn't. This form of editing images is commonly seen in online communities, who sometimes hold "photoshop contests", in which participants attempt to manipulate images in a way that it tricks the viewer in some way or another. There are, of course, other types of photoshop contests, but this is generally the main one.

Photoshopping does not necessarily refer to all edits done in Adobe Photoshop. It is commonly used to refer to any editing/manipulation of an image, whether by using Microsoft Paint or Paint.NET.
