Project X (disambiguation)

Project X is a common metaphor for a secret project, often run by the government, and usually involving the military. As such, Project X can mean:
- A 1987 motion picture in which a new United States Air Force lieutenant notices some strange symptoms in chimpanzees used in a secret Air Force project of that name.[1]
- A 1968 motion picture in which a spy, in a dire future in which the Cold War never ended, is subjected to a simulated reality in an effort to restore to him certain crucial memories that were wiped at the disastrous end of his last mission.[2]
- A computer game (full title: Megaman: Project X) in which the player controls an avatar having unusual athletic ability.
- A shooting-gallery-type game for the Amiga computer gaming console, released in 1992.
- A secret project of the "State Science Institute" as described in Ayn Rand's novel, Atlas Shrugged.
The phrase Project X is also used to describe any secret project by a private company specializing in home entertainment or computing.
