Inheritance Cycle
From Conservapedia
Inheritance Cycle is a series of fantasy novels, written by Christopher Paolini. The first book, Eragon, was originally self-published by Paolini International LLC, the Paolini family's publishing business. It was later picked up Knopf, and went on to become a New York Times bestseller, as did its sequel, Eldest. Fox 2000, a division of 20th Century Fox, soon after purchased film rights to the series. A film version of Eragon, directed by Stefen Fangmeier, was released on December 15, 2006. The Inheritance Cycle has gathered much attention due to the fact that Christopher Paolini was only 15 when he began writing the first book, Eragon.

Criticism
Reaction to the books have been polarized, with some claiming them to be a work of genius and prodigy, while others criticize flat characterization and overly florid writing, with others still going as far to accuse Paolini of plagiarism of The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, A Wizard of Earthsea, and many other minor sources. When confronted with this, Paolini's comment was that "all fantasy is deriative".
