Second Battle of the Marne

The Second Battle of the Marne was a battle in July 1918 during which the Allied Powers started winning World War I. The battle was fought about seventy-miles northeast of Paris. The Germans started the battle with another of their offensives, but the nine American divisions turned the tables and enabled the allies to win. There were enormous casualties on both sides. Former President Teddy Roosevelt's son was killed in this battle.
