The Seventh-Day Adventist Church [1] is a Christian denomination of millions who follow the teachings of the bible rather than human authority(Mark 7:9) and emphasize:

  • observance of Saturday, not Sunday, as the Sabbath (to keep the 4th commandment--Exodus 20:9/Deuteronomy 5:13 and following the practice of God resting on the seventh day of creation--Genesis 2:1-3)
  • social work in the form of hospitals, schools and missionary work
  • a return of Jesus Christ and an end to the world in near rather than distant future

Seventh-Day Adventists believe in Annihilationism.

History

The seventh day adventist movement came out of the Millerite movement.
