Shunzhi
Chinese 順治

The Shunzhi emperor (1638-1661) ruled China from 1644 until 1661. He founded the Qing dynasty (1644-1911). This dynasty was created following the conquest of China by the Manchu, a people from the northeast. The Qing ousted the Ming, an ethnic Chinese dynasty. Shunzhi was the second Qing emperor, but the first to rule China.
