Major Sir Denis Thatcher, Baronet (1915 - 2003) was a British businessman and husband of Margaret Thatcher. The pinnacle of his business career was his service as chairman of Burmah Oil. Never one to hog the limelight in the face of his far more famous and powerful wife, he was often satirized (on the puppet show Spitting Image, for example), as being a bit too fond of the bottle. He was a qualified rugby referee.
