/* Liberal opposition to Tebow */
[[Liberal]]s in the sports industry have been long opposed to Tim Tebow because they don't want the spread of Christianity in the NFL, so Tebow has been subjected to harassment and criticism because they believe he should be drummed out of the NFL for daring to spread the good work of Christ, using the excuse of him being a subpar player as a shield for the fact they are afraid of the negative reaction of the lamestream media, which they fear will result in negative publicity and loss of sponsorship for the NFL if they allow the spread of Christ's message to be encouraged.

==Tebow and the First Baptist Church==
In February 2013, Tebow cancelled a scheduled appearance at the First Baptist Church in Dallas Texas. The Church's pastor, Robert Jeffress, is a staunch opponent of homosexual rights. Tebow said that he was cancelling his appearance "due to new information that has been brought to my attention," but that he would "continue to use the platform God has blessed me with to bring Faith, Hope and Love to all those needing a brighter day." <ref>[http://www.advocate.com/politics/religion/2013/02/21/tim-tebow-wont-talk-unconditional-love-antigay-church "Tim Tebow Cancels Talk on 'Unconditional Love' at Antigay Church."]</ref>
