St Adomnan

St Adomnan was abbot of Iona from 679-704AD. He was the author of a biography of St Columba. He wrote "The Law of the Innocents" which protected women and children in time of war and is regarded as an early exaple of Christian human rights law. He is regarded as an important figure in Scottish and Irish history.
