Steve Stockman is a conservative former U.S. representative from Texas, first elected in 1994. Liberals were so enraged at Stockman's conservative advocacy that they targeted him for defeat, but he was subsequently elected again to Congress after a 16-year absence in 2012.

A native of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Stockman opposed the RINOs by refusing to vote for moderate John Boehner of Ohio as Speaker of the House. Stockman also called for the impeachment of U.S. President Barack H. Obama.

In 2014, he was defeated in the Republican primary for the United States Senate by moderate Republican John Cornyn, who went on to defeat Democrat opposition for a third term. Another conservative in the race was Dwayne Stovall, a school board member from Cleveland in Liberty County in southeastern Texas.
