Talk:Abolitionist

Perhaps we should remove the History section here. I think it might be more appropriate for the Abolitionism article. Plus it seems strange to have a direct quote represent the history of abolitionists. --Colest 12:25, 12 June 2007 (EDT)

I agree that the history would be more appropriate in the Abolitionism article since it's the history of the movement itself. I thought it would be prudent to make it clear that the current history section is a direct quote from a previously uncited, copyrighted source. When moving it to Abolitionism it would probably be best to rewrite it to avoid the quoting.--Brian 12:32, 12 June 2007 (EDT)

Thank you for your work. I support whatever you gentlemen decide. Learn together 12:37, 12 June 2007 (EDT)

I've removed the quote from this article, and fixed up the Abolitionism article a bit.--Colest 14:52, 12 June 2007 (EDT)

"To a lesser extent in Britain"

Seeing as how Great Britain abolished the slave trade, and slavery in its colonies and at home decades before American slave owners thought were forced to do so, I wonder if the "to a lesser extent" passage was really relevant? Aboganza 18:34, 26 February 2008 (EST)
