How, pray tell, did William the Conqueror disguise himself? That makes no sense given that he led the army of the Duchy of Normandy during the Conquest. --WOVcenter 01:54, 12 March 2007 (EDT)

The town of Battle grew up around the abbey built by William to commemorate the battle. See http://www.battle-sussex.co.uk/home/town.asp Can that line be deleted?

On a lighter note, I once saw a builder's truck driving around Hastings sporting the sign: "WILLIAM THE CONCRETOR". AlanE 07:06, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
