Atheists and the Bible

It's wrong to say that atheists rarely study the bible. Most of them have studied it at some length; they often give this as their reason for leaving Christianity. A recent Pew poll found that atheists have among the highest level of religious knowledge of any religious group in America, and on average score higher on religious knowledge than evangelical Christians.[1] They're atheists because they misunderstand the Bible or take it literally, but NOT because they're ignorant of it. --HarryPagett 17:53, 15 December 2011 (EST)
