a couple of points here - I dont want to edit the article without discussion .
"preventing any pregnancy not caused by God." << isnt that a bit much for an encyclopedia ? if something has to be in the something like 98% effective in preventing mundane pregnancies might work . also the cancer risks seem to be in some dispute according to what studies.

Abstinence is not 100% effective in preventing STD's and pregnancy
This needs to be changed. It is highly effective in preventing STD's and pregnancy but there are numerous ways you can still end up with both of the above. A rape victim is still being abstinant but they can still get pregnant and an STD, and many STD's are transmittable thru ways other than sex. Try walking in any ghetto, where needles litter the ground and you'll get my point. i have also read about dirty needles being used as weapons.
