Freedom of Speech
Freedom of speech does not exist? I know a high level of socialist political correctness occurs but no freedom of speech, is this true? --Jpatt 23:19, 20 November 2010 (EST)
- Britain has no constitutional right of free speech like in the United States. There are laws prohibiting some criticisms of the king or queen, for example, and truth is not a recognized defense.--Andy Schlafly 13:14, 21 November 2010 (EST)
Andy is right there is no written constrition in hte UK, but this seems a rather perjorative spiin. Other laws are enacted to maintain freedom of speech. In dood faith, I would be interested in knowing what laws there are enforced agaisnt critiscism of them monarchy as the latter has frequently occured freely in modern times?
