Many paragraphs in this article appear to be copied verbatim from the referenced sources and should be re-written. BrianCo 23:37, 8 July 2007 (EDT)

Would you care to elaborate on that? I wrote the original article (though it has been edited since) and I took care to rewrite anything other than what was directly quoted from and attributed to the sources in the article, which were mainly the words of Babbage himself (not copyrightable) and a short snip from Engineering.com. I've just had a look through, in case I wasn't careful enough, and can't see 'many paragraphs...verbatim', but maybe I have just overlooked them and you could help by pointing them out. --Britinme 10:17, 11 July 2007 (EDT)

I'm going to go over this article carefully, later, when I have time. I think it give Babbage too much credit. It's one thing to dream of an invention. It's another to construct a working prototype. On the other hand, I don't want to diminish what he did either. If people built on his work, he deserves credit for shining a light, even if he could not tread the path. --Ed Poor Talk 13:03, 15 December 2008 (EST)
