How can they be liberals if they are anti-communist, commit "hate crimes" against liberal protected groups (such as blacks), and appear to be anti-gun control? Liberals are, basically, communists who use hate crime legislation to silence free speech and like restricting people's ability to defend themselves. It also sounds like they follow some sort of messed up interpretation of the Bible (which would be a liberal trait) which makes it sound like they certainly wouldn't promote evolution. I question whether they really are liberals since they are against so many strong liberal traits. I would say they are something else altogether. Keep in mind, just because liberals believe a lot of incorrect bad things does not mean that all people who believe incorrect, evil things are liberal. Sulli 13:43, 27 December 2008 (EST)

I see what you're saying, but one needs to look at this more deeply. Ultimately, a liberal is someone who believes in the will of man sometimes in alliance with, but usually over against the will of God. Hitler is was an extreme liberal, though his totalitarianism prevented other forms of liberalism from forming. Christian Identity is a Hitler-type of liberalism. There is evil in the world that is not the work or will of man (e.g., Satan), but freedom has a dark side and that is the potential for sin. So not everything that is liberal is evil and not everything that is evil liberal, nevertheless there is a lot of overlap and Christian Identity is a good example of liberal sin. --RickD 14:06, 27 December 2008 (EST)

Yeah, I'm a bit confused about the liberalism thing, too. The article does not explain how they are liberal, or for that matter, even mention that they are. There's just the categories and the template at the bottom. Their beliefs don't seem to match up with those in the liberal article, either. --KevinS 15:07, 27 December 2008 (EST)

Berlet as a source?

Here's Berlet's website [1], he lists Phyllis Schlafly's A Choice Not an Echo under "Selected Historic Right-Wing Conspiracist, Populist, and Racist Texts" along with Ralph de Toladano Seeds of Treason (published by Western Islands) on the Chambers-Hiss affair and John Flynn's The Roosevelt Myth. Slander and lies are his stock in trade. Rob Smith 23:51, 6 July 2009 (EDT)
