I'm a member of the Conservative party of Canada, we are like your Republican party.

How? By the continued existence of publicly-funded health care? No Republican would dream of doing that. And no member of the Conservative Party of Canada is lining up to send Canadian troops to Iraq for than matter.Sevenstring 19:15, 29 May 2007 (EDT)

Re: Sevenstring The Canadian Alliance (later merged with the Progressive Conservative Party and became the Conservative Party being discussed), which was HMR Opposition at the time that the Iraq War began, was the only party in parliament that wanted to send Canadian Armed Forces members to Iraq as a member of the Coalition of the Willing. Stephen Harper was later criticized for a speech he made in parliament calling for said deployment, as it was plagiarized from an Australian speech read earlier that week. After the facts regarding the weapons of mass destruction, and the ensuing inability to restore security and safety to Iraqis the Conservative government no longer supports the war, nor does it have the mandate too. doherty2 16:12, February 2 2008.
