Talk:Conservative force

Ha ha ha, this wasn't what I expected to read when I saw the title!

Anyways, the description is a little heady for me. I always think of conservative forces as those in which it doesn't matter how you get to a new state; the only thing that matters is the difference between the starting and ending states. For example you have the same potential energy on the top of Mount Everest whether you climbed to the top, rode a helicopter, or dropped in from space. Is this correct?
