What makes you think that the Enlightenment led to the American Revolution? I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but there are other viewpoints at hand. America was destined to leave Great Britain; they were forced into the Revolution by the oppression of Great Britain. Tyranny led to the questioning of the British government, and perhaps the Enlightenment is wrongly accredited with this particular moment in U.S. history. Jeffrey W.
