1. "conservatism reacts quickly to ever-changing liberal assaults on values".

   I don't see how that's relevant to conservatism being essential to religion.

2. "conservatism explains how government affects people's beliefs and conduct"

   And nothing else does?

3. "modern media did not exist when religion developed, and conservatism is needed to combat media"

   Okay… that's not tangent at all, is it?

4. "church is once-a-week or less for most people, while conservatism is 24x7"

   And that's totally essential to religion. Yep. Entirely. That's absurd, Andy. Now you're insinuating that conservatism substitutes for religion?

5. "public schools did not exist when religion developed, and conservatism is needed to educate students"

   Since when is the latter true?
